Health Week!

Even though P7 were off to the Academy for most of this week, they still had time to take part in some of the Health Week activities! As part of Bridgend’s fundraising for ARCHIE, P7 took part in Boogie and Bound for ARCHIE.

To also mark health week, P7 worked closely with P1. P7 were given the task of creating and leading a small fitness/activity station what would be suitable for a Primary 1. They had to think of a warm up as well as a cool down activity too. It is fair to say that Primary 7 excelled themselves when it came to organising this. They were efficient, responsible and exceptionally mature when working with the P1s. They were friendly, accommodating and helpful towards all of the P1s. Miss Grant and Mr McHardy were delighted with the way that P7 conducted themselves. If you look at our photo gallery, you can clearly see everyone enjoying themselves!

We are looking forward to seeing P7 back at BPS on Monday morning! Only 3 and a half more days to go….

County Sports Champs!

18 competitors from Bridgend P7 attended County Sports at Dingwall Academy yesterday, competing against other schools across Ross-shire. P7 pupils were competing in events such as Javelin, Long Jump, sprints and relay races.  A huge well done to all those who managed to come away with a medal, and an equally big well done to all those who took part! You’ve done Bridgend proud (again!)

Sports Day

Another ‘last ever’ was ticked off Primary 7’s list today – their last ever sports day at Bridgend. Luckily, we had cracking weather for it. It was great to see all of the P7s taking part and clearly enjoying the day. Many thanks to all those P7s who took the time to help with the smooth running of the afternoon. Well done everyone!

Probably? Certain? Impossible? Likely?

This morning in P7 we have been busy learning about chance and probability. In our home teams we visited 7 different activity stations, using our knowledge and skills to calculate and solve some probability problems. Have a look at our gallery to see what we were up to!

Bridgend’s Brilliant J-Rockers Rock through!

A massive well done to all of Bridgend’s J-Rockers who won the Inverness J-Rock final last night. The performance from all of the pupils was simply incredible. Pictured here are our 16 Primary 7 J-Rockers, proudly displaying some of the 18 (yes 18!!!!) awards they received, as well as the framed J-Rock champion prize. A huge well done goes to Will for doing an excellent job as co-host with Gino from MFR, as well as Dylan, Flynn, Sam S and Jack who confidently and succinctly answered all the questions Gino had for them about Bridgend’s performance.

All the pupils represented Bridgend in spectacular fashion – something they can all be proud of. Well done everyone!!

Home Teams Rounding It Up

This week P7 have been learning to round numbers to 1, 2 or 3 decimal places. As a challenge, each home team was given a pack of triangles. On the edges of the triangles were clues or answers. The teams had to match the clues with the answers to create a shape successfully. The Home Teams also had to consider how they would tackle the task – some dealt the cards out equally and worked through each clue methodically. One team piled the cards in the middle and took cards to create a shape individually, then put it together to make the big hexagon. Brilliantly, all the Home Teams managed to complete the challenge – some in record time! Well done P7.

Onesie Wednesday

As you might have noticed – we’ve had a pretty busy week in P7 so far, with lots of exciting events happening. We have also been enjoying Eco Week at Bridgend and today was ‘Onesie Wednesday’. Some of us were finding it hard not to fall into a deep sleep while feeling all cosy in the classroom with our onesies! Well done to all those who contributed something to help fund our Outdoor Classroom.
